Machel Montano Urges Investment in Youth Talent

Machel Montano, Road March champion and Master of Arts in Carnival Studies degree holder from the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), is calling on the government and corporate bodies of the nation to invest in the youth by imparting the knowledge he gained from UTT. Montano emphasizes that education can be a powerful tool to unlock the potential in the country’s youth. He cites eight-year-old Angelo Gore as a prime example of the flourishing young talent in the country, who impressed Montano with his performance at Monday Madness. Montano also salutes the pan players, roti makers, and taxi drivers, highlighting their unique skills. He expresses his determination to support local talent, announcing his plan to fund and develop it himself if necessary. Soundbridge, Montano’s upcoming programme, is set to be a significant part of this initiative, aiming to provide an insight into Montano’s journey through educational workshops, tutorials, and interviews. His documentary, Like Ah Boss, is also due for release in cinemas today.
