Parents across the nation experienced unexpected disruptions yesterday, as they were compelled to pick up their children early from school due to low teacher turnout, leading to premature dismissals at several primary and secondary schools. This incident occurred a day after the Ministry of Education announced that the Cabinet approved revised employment terms and conditions for teachers. However, the salary increases that were part of these revisions will not be implemented immediately, as they are set to be enforced through the standard administrative and financial processes of the state. The sudden dismissals caused significant inconvenience, especially for working parents, with one parent from south Trinidad expressing their dissatisfaction with the situation.
