TTUTA Plans Mass Rally Over Delayed Salary Increases

The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) is gearing up for a possible mass rally in response to the government’s continuous delay in salary increases. The teachers, who have been wearing red in protest, are yet to receive their new salaries as promised in an April 2025 agreement. Despite assurances given in December 2025 for payment by January 2026, the promise remains unfulfilled. TTUTA President, Crystal Ashe, expressed disappointment in the ongoing delays, labeling them as disrespectful. In a bid to hasten the process, the union plans to continue protests, write to officials, run a public awareness campaign, and seeks approval for a mass rally.
