From January 1, 2026, citizens will experience a significant increase in passport and immigration services fees due to a comprehensive revision of fees under new Immigration (Amendment) Regulations. The cost of an adult passport has doubled from $250 to $500, while lost or misplaced valid passports will now cost $2,000 to replace. The Ministry of Homeland Security explains that the increase reflects the high administrative and security costs of modern passport production and the need for advanced digital systems. The revised fees will fund the country’s transition to a fully digital and cashless immigration system. However, the Government has taken steps to protect vulnerable groups, including senior citizens and infants under two years old, who will continue to receive passports free of charge.
