This December marked a decade of service for the Glimmer of Hope Foundation. It was only two years prior that the organization, led by founder Zahir Ali, garnered national attention through a tragic story reported by the Express. The story unveiled the stark reality of extreme poverty in Trinidad and Tobago, focusing on the life of 14-year-old Rehanna Bhaggan and her mother, Reena Ramadhar. Despite living amidst affluence, their existence was marked by a lack of basic support, eventually leading to their tragic death in a fire that obliterated their makeshift home in Cemetery Street, Warner Village. The circumstances of their final moments remain shrouded in mystery. The Glimmer of Hope Foundation had attempted to intervene, but their efforts were in vain.
