A 21-year-old small business owner from Munroe Road, Cunupia was robbed of a gaming computer during a fake transaction on Facebook Marketplace in Belmont. The victim, who runs an online computer store, went to meet a supposed buyer for a gaming PC valued at $4,300. The buyer presented a seemingly valid bank transfer receipt, leading the seller to hand over the computer. However, no money was deposited into the seller’s account in the following days, and multiple bank checks confirmed no transactions, indicating the receipt was fraudulent. The victim reported the incident to the police who are now conducting investigations.
