Olive Green-Jack has been issued a detention order following a controversial social media post in which she urged the Venezuelan government to target the private home of the Prime Minister. The post was deemed as an attempt to sway public opinion in a manner that could threaten public safety. Green-Jack’s post was interpreted as an invitation for violence on the Prime Minister, the government of Trinidad and Tobago, and the public by Venezuela or other external entities, posing a significant threat to public safety. Green-Jack will now be held at a women’s prison as part of the detention order. Her detention order is among four others signed by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander, targeting individuals involved in organized crime and large-scale trafficking of illegal narcotics, firearms, and human trafficking.
