On Wednesday, Amy complained of a severe headache and fell ill at her Petit Valley home. Tragically, she was later found unresponsive on the bathroom floor. Despite the swift response of Emergency Health Services personnel and the efforts of the medical team at the St. James Infirmary, Amy was pronounced dead at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Amy’s death are ongoing. The police have reported no visible signs of violence on the teenager’s body. A post-mortem examination is expected to shed light on the exact cause of death.
Amy’s death has deeply affected her school community. The Ministry of Education and St. Joseph’s Convent both released statements, expressing their condolences and extending support to the grieving family and school community. The Ministry of Education said in a statement, ‘We stand in solidarity with the principal, staff and students of St. Joseph’s Convent as they come to terms with the tragedy.’
On Thursday, the school held a morning assembly where prayers were offered for Amy. The school described her as a ‘valued member of the school family’ whose passing has deeply touched classmates, teachers and friends.
Amy’s sudden loss has sparked widespread expressions of grief across social media, with many offering condolences and prayers to her family. The mystery surrounding her sudden death has left her community and the nation waiting anxiously for answers.
