Three Arrested in Sangre Grande Police Operation

In an intelligence-led operation in Sangre Grande, three men were detained by officers from the Eastern Division Task Force. The operation, dubbed ‘Operation Steady Guard,’ was conducted between 11:00 p.m. on March 24 and 3:00 a.m. on March 25, with senior officers offering their support. The operation was initiated in response to a larceny reported at a housing development along Eastern Main Road, Manzanilla.

A vigilant watchman had noticed three men removing items from the construction site and fleeing into the adjacent bush. The quick response of police patrols led to the interception of a vehicle in which the suspects were traveling. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a number of suspected stolen items, including armoured electrical cables, a panel box with breakers, a battery, a speaker box, and various tools.

The three suspects have since been taken into custody. As the investigation into the incident continues, the three men remain under detention. The recovery of these items has potentially thwarted further criminal activity and showcases the effectiveness of intelligence-led police operations.
