Suriname Man Fatally Stabs Four Children, Kills Five Others

A tragic incident occurred in Suriname, where a man fatally stabbed four of his children following a heated argument with his wife. The attack happened in Richelieu, about 15 miles east of the capital, Paramaribo. The assailant, identified as a 43-year-old, also attacked and killed five other individuals who came to the aid of his victims or who were in close proximity. Authorities said the man attempted to attack police officers when they arrived on the scene, and was injured during his arrest. He is currently recuperating in a hospital. A sixth child and another adult were seriously injured in the attack and are receiving treatment at a Paramaribo hospital. The nation’s President, Jennifer Geerlings-Simons, expressed her condolences to the bereaved on her Facebook page.
