An 18-year-old man from Barrackpore is currently recuperating from a serious head wound, following an escalated family disagreement over an alleged extra-marital affair. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, December 27, 2025, when the victim, along with his mother and sister, confronted the parties involved in the dispute. The argument soon turned violent, and the young man was struck on the head with a cutlass while trying to mediate. He was rushed to the Siparia Health Facility and later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital where he is reported to be in a stable condition. Following the incident, the victim’s aunt was arrested by local police.
