The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) confirmed the execution of search warrants at locations in Westmoorings and Trincity today. These warrants, lawfully issued by the Supreme Court of Judicature, are part of an ongoing investigation.
During the operation, two individuals were detained and are currently assisting the police with their enquiries. However, no charges have been laid at this time. The TTPS has emphasized that the execution of a warrant is a standard investigative procedure and does not constitute a finding of wrongdoing.
The searches are related to Blue Waters owner, Dominic Hadeed. This comes three months after Hadeed put the government under fire over tax increases and VAT refunds. It is important to note that no conclusions should be drawn regarding the status of any individual until investigations are completed and any evidence is properly assessed in accordance with due process.
The TTPS stated that it remains committed to conducting all investigations with professionalism, fairness, and respect for the rule of law. Further details of the investigation remain undisclosed as the matter is still active.
