Police in Sangre Grande have launched an investigation into the suspected suicide of 15-year-old Xian Royer, who died early yesterday morning after being found unresponsive at his home along Oropouche Road.
According to reports, Royer was discovered by relatives shortly after midnight on December 7, 2025. He was rushed to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where medical staff observed marks around his neck consistent with hanging. Despite efforts to assist him, he was pronounced dead around 2:10 a.m.
Hospital staff alerted police, who responded and processed the scene. Investigators say that while preliminary findings point to suicide, the official cause of death will only be confirmed following a post-mortem examination.
Relatives told officers the teenager had been seen alive earlier that night, but when they later checked on him, he was unresponsive.
