Courier Robbed by Fake Police Officers in Valencia

A 28-year-old courier driver was robbed on Sunday afternoon by two men posing as police officers along the Bypass Road in Valencia.

According to police, the victim was driving west near the second roundabout around 3.50 p.m. when a black Nissan X-Trail with heavily tinted windows approached from behind. The SUV was equipped with blue flashing lights and sounded its horn, leading the driver to believe he was being stopped by law enforcement.

When he pulled to the side of the road, two men of East Indian descent exited the SUV. Both wore green face masks. One was dressed in black jeans and a black T-shirt, while the other wore blue long pants and a cream-coloured T-shirt.

Officers said one of the suspects opened the driver’s door, demanded cash, and took an undisclosed sum from the victim’s pocket. The second suspect stole the driver’s iPhone 11 and slapped him across the face before returning to the waiting SUV.

The men then sped off. The victim later reported the incident to the Valencia Police Post.

Investigations are ongoing.
