In a series of anti-crime operations carried out in the Western and Port of Spain Division, law enforcement officials seized three firearms and numerous rounds of ammunition on March 9, 2026. The operation took place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., during which, a search was conducted under a bridge over the Maraval River. The officers found a Glock 17 pistol, a Taurus G2C pistol, and a Pietro Beretta pistol along with four rounds of .45 ammunition, six rounds of 5.56 ammunition and seventy additional rounds of 9mm ammunition. Separately, the Port of Spain Gang Intelligence Unit and the Port of Spain Task Force, part of Operation Steadfast, discovered sixty rounds of 7.62 ammunition in an abandoned building in Lodge Place. The operations were led by Senior Superintendents Williams and Thom, and Superintendents Mohammed and Revanales.
