Carrington Dominates Florida Swim Championships, Eyes CARIFTA

Over the past weekend, Liam Carrington from Trinidad and Tobago demonstrated exceptional versatility at the Florida Swimming Spring Senior Championships, nearly clinching all titles. This performance acts as a significant preparation for Carrington, who is geared to lead a 31-member national team at the forthcoming CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in Martinique. His domination extended across various strokes and distances, as evidenced in his 400-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle super final victories. He also anchored his club’s relay success. As the T&T squad captain, his form boosts the national team’s morale ahead of the CARIFTA Championships, a critical event for regional junior and youth swimmers. Despite his short-course yards times in Florida being exceptional, officials are focusing on the long-course meters format in Martinique, testing his sprint speed and IM endurance in the Olympic-sized pool. Given his recent form, Carrington is expected to play a pivotal role in T&T’s quest for medals and record-breaking performances this Easter.
