Over the weekend, a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force was fatally shot in Chaguanas, leading to a public response from Minister of Defence Wayne Sturge. The incident occurred in the Edinburgh 500 district on Saturday night, March 14. After being briefed on the matter, Minister Sturge expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and colleagues, acknowledging the impact of the loss on the Defence Force and the national security community. Investigations into the shooting are currently being led by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. The Ministry of Defence will provide further comments after receiving the official report.
