In an unexpected outbreak of violence, a local businessman aged in his late 60s was fatally shot outside his residence in Santa Rosa Heights, Arima on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Zack Pooran, a popular owner of a stationery store. According to residents, the typically tranquil neighbourhood was shattered by a series of gunshots around 6 p.m. Preliminary reports suggest that Pooran was attacked by a gunman as he was entering his house after parking his car. Despite the immediate response, Pooran was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help in their ongoing investigation.
