The community of Barrackpore is set to honor the memory of seven-year-old Angelica Saydee Jogie with a candlelight vigil this Sunday evening. The tragic loss of the young girl, who died in a jet ski incident in Tobago, has left family and friends in profound sorrow. The vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Cottage Road Junction and is being organized by the Believers Assembly Church and the Satyanarayan Hindu Temple, alongside local community members.
Angelica lost her life on April 8 when a jet ski collided with her and her relatives while they enjoyed a family outing at Pigeon Point Beach. The news of her death has deeply affected not just her family, but the wider community, which is coming together to support them during this difficult time.
Following the vigil, participants will take part in a candlelight procession to the home of Angelica’s father, where an interfaith service will be held in her honor. Loved ones have described Angelica as a bright and cherished child, often referred to as a “dearly departed princess.”
Organizers are encouraging the public to join in this act of remembrance and solidarity to celebrate the life of a young girl whose spirit touched many. The vigil serves not only as a tribute to Angelica but also as a demonstration of community support for her grieving family.
