In the early hours of Tuesday, September 8, 2026, a fatal shooting shook the Morvant community. Police were called to a corner of Second Caledonia Road near Juman, where a 22‑year‑old man was found lying on the roadway.
The victim, identified as Tylan Hinkson of Redwood Street, sustained multiple gunshot wounds that left him severely injured. The bullets caused extensive damage to his face, hands, and legs, rendering him unable to walk.
Responding officers secured the scene and called for a District Medical Officer, who pronounced Hinkson dead on the spot. The police have yet to identify a suspect and are canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
