In a substantial crackdown on drug smuggling, South African authorities have seized drugs valued at three million rand along the Mozambique border. This operation highlights the increasing smuggling activities in the region, particularly as the value of drugs captured marks a sharp rise from 787,000 rand in May. The Joint Operations Division of the South African National Defence Force reported that soldiers patrolling the border are vigilant against illicit trafficking. While the bulk of the confiscated goods originated in Limpopo, the increased interceptions underscore a growing trend in drug smuggling across South Africa’s borders. Moreover, the action comes in tandem with the apprehension of numerous undocumented individuals, many of whom were linked to these criminal activities.
