US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodriguez, following the United States’ military intervention in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Trump stated from his West Palm Beach Golf Club that Rodriguez could face severe consequences if she resists US actions in Venezuela. This came after Rodriguez condemned the US for its intervention, claiming that the ’empire’ is after Venezuela’s oil wealth. Trump also claimed that the US would be running Venezuela and its oil companies would be rebuilding and accessing its untapped oil reserves. Rodriguez, a loyalist of the Maduro regime, was appointed as acting President by Venezuela’s Supreme Tribunal of Justice following Maduro’s capture and transfer to the US to face criminal charges.
