Stepfather Confesses to Murder of Missing Tobago Toddler: Intense Search for Body Continues

In a devastating development, the disappearance of two-year-old Angelo Plaza has taken a tragic twist. The toddler’s stepfather, Shannon Miller, has reportedly confessed to police in connection with the child’s murder. Miller is expected to guide officers on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, to locations in Tobago where he allegedly discarded the child’s body.

This revelation follows days of relentless searches across Tobago, including Pig Farm Road, Mt. St. George dump, and Dam Road. These locations were scoured by police, emergency responders, and volunteer search teams in a desperate attempt to find the missing toddler.

Significantly, investigators concentrated their efforts around Pig Farm Road, where Miller owns a cassava field. The Hunters Search and Rescue Team, under the leadership of Captain Vallence Rambharat, responded to numerous public tips and conducted exhaustive searches in the challenging terrain of heavily forested areas and precipices.

The case has been persistent, with investigators from specialized units including the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Special Victims Department, Tobago Gang Unit, Canine Unit, and Criminal Records Office working around the clock. They have been assisted by TEMA and Hunters Search and Rescue.

As the nation watches, the search continues into its ninth day, with the hope of finding Angelo dwindling. The police are set to continue their rigorous search efforts on Wednesday, aiming to recover the toddler’s body and uncover the full circumstances of his untimely death.
