In a tragic incident on Sunday, August 23, in Margate, Florida, Kenya Glasgow and her 2-year-old daughter Kennedi lost their lives after being struck by lightning. The family was on their way to a dinner at Kameron Glasgow’s aunt’s house when the untimely event took place.
According to Kameron, the family arrived at their destination amid a thunderstorm and made the decision to rush indoors. Tragically, as Kenya and Kennedi attempted to reach the front door, they were struck by lightning. Kameron recalls it as the worst feeling in the world, describing the moment as profoundly devastating.
While Kenya and Kennedi were outside, their other twin daughter, Kensli, remained safe in the car, narrowly escaping harm. Margate Police and Margate Fire Rescue responded swiftly to the scene, finding Kenya and Kennedi on the sidewalk near 7900 Northwest First Street.
Emergency services transported Kenya to North Broward Medical Center, while Kennedi was taken to Broward Health Medical Center. Despite the medical efforts, both were pronounced dead shortly after their arrival at the hospitals.
The incident underscores the unpredictable nature of lightning strikes and the heartbreaking impact on families. Kameron Glasgow shared his grief with NBC Miami, highlighting the profound loss of his wife and daughter due to the tragic circumstances.
