Nearly one year after the killing of Ameer Hosein, police investigations remain ongoing as three suspects continue to evade capture, despite one accused already appearing before the court.
Richard Ramsammy, also known as “Nana,” was formally charged with the murder of Ameer Hosein and made his first appearance before a Master of the High Court on Friday, January 31, 2025. Authorities have confirmed that Ramsammy is the first person to be charged in connection with the case.
However, investigators say the search continues for three other individuals who are believed to be involved. Those still at large have been identified as Felisha Crystal Shorab, her son, and her brother, Fareed. Police report that active efforts are underway to locate and apprehend them.
Hosein was last seen on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Shorab’s residence on Love Lane in Carapo, Arima. When he failed to return home or make contact, a missing person report was filed.
On Friday, January 24, 2025, police discovered Hosein’s burnt orange Nissan Almera abandoned near the Caroni River along O’Meara Road South, just off the Carapo Main Road. The discovery intensified the search efforts, raising serious concerns about his safety.
Two days later, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, officers recovered Hosein’s decomposing body from the Caroni River near Malabar Farms in Carapo. A subsequent autopsy revealed that he had been shot, confirming that his death was a homicide.
Police are continuing their investigations and are urging anyone with information that could assist in locating the remaining suspects to come forward.
