United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to meet before the Caricom Heads of Government plenary sessions in St Kitts. The Prime Minister confirmed the bilateral meeting with Rubio in response to inquiries from the Express. The discussions are set to cover several topics, including national security cooperation, economic interests, and OFAC licenses relating to Venezuela and Cuba. Persad-Bissessar emphasized that her attendance at the Caricom meeting was not influenced by Rubio’s presence, as her plans were set before Rubio’s visit to the region was confirmed.
