Mystery Surrounds Councillor’s Death Despite Autopsy Findings

The death of Romona Teeneal Victor, a local government councillor, remains unclassified by police, despite autopsy results indicating blunt force trauma as the cause of death. The 36-year-old was found dead at her Siparia home by her father on November 23, 2025, with severe injuries to her head and neck. A note from her common-law husband, Rodney Ramsumair, was found at the scene, implying that Victor had fallen from a 15-foot landing at their home during a physical altercation. However, it remains unclear whether her fall was accidental or deliberate. Police are yet to confirm if Ramsumair, who was last seen on November 22 and is believed to have taken his own life, was involved in Victor’s death. Victor, a dedicated mother and professional who was serving her second term as the UNC councillor, was buried on November 27th, 2025. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths continues.
