San Juan East Side Symphony Captures Ninth Panorama Single Pan Title

San Juan East Side Symphony Steel Orchestra has once again asserted its dominance on the national stage, securing its ninth Panorama Single Pan title during an electrifying finals at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Saturday night. The victory also marks the band’s second consecutive championship, solidifying its legacy as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most formidable steel ensembles.

Performing a meticulously crafted arrangement of Jumbie by Machel Montano—arranged by the renowned Duvone Stewart—the ensemble delivered a performance that judges and spectators alike described as both technically brilliant and emotionally charged. Their execution earned them a commanding 285 points, placing them ahead of 24 other competitors in a fiercely contested field.

Close on their heels was La Creole Pan Groove, whose dynamic rendition of Pan By Storm captured 282 points and secured the second-place spot. Chord Masters Steel Orchestra followed closely in third with 280 points for their powerful performance of Showdown (Band Meet Band).

For San Juan East Side Symphony, Saturday night’s triumph was more than another addition to their well-filled trophy cabinet. It represented the culmination of months of discipline, sacrifice, and musical refinement. The band, known for its rigorous rehearsals and unwavering cohesion, once again demonstrated why it remains a pillar of excellence within the Single Pan category.

As the applause faded and the celebratory rhythms continued into the night, the victory underscored not only the band’s past achievements but also its ongoing commitment to elevating the steelband art form. With their ninth title in hand, San Juan East Side Symphony stands poised to continue inspiring the next generation of pan players and enthusiasts across the nation.
