Local authorities in Arouca are currently investigating a grim discovery made early Monday afternoon. A man’s body was found in a concrete drain along the Priority Bus Route, near the TSTT tower. The deceased is described as being of mixed descent, approximately 5 feet tall, with a beard and short, greying hair. He was found wearing a red and black jersey paired with grey shorts.
Upon their arrival, officials noted a red liquid emanating from the man’s nose and mouth. However, according to District Medical Officer Dr. Pereira, an initial on-site examination did not suggest any immediate signs of foul play.
The body has since been removed from the scene and transported to the Forensic Science Centre where a post-mortem examination is set to be conducted. This procedure will officially determine the cause of death.
While the circumstances surrounding the man’s death currently appear non-criminal, the police have stated that investigations are ongoing. They aim to confirm the man’s identity and unravel the chain of events that led to his untimely demise.
