**Pilar —** Mayor Federico Achával led a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the death of General José de San Martín, advocating for the construction of an Argentina that provides development, employment, and opportunities for all citizens.
The event took place at the Paseo del Centro and the Plaza 12 de Octubre, drawing local authorities, council members, community institutions, and residents from across the district. Attendees included Secretary of Government Santiago Laurent and General Secretary Soledad Peralta, alongside other municipal officials such as Security Secretary Federico Kruse and Undersecretary of Health Policies Rosario Beláustegui.
“We gather with the community in Plaza 12 de Octubre to honor General San Martín, share our traditions, and raise our flag high,” Achával stated during the gathering. “This new anniversary of his passing into immortality invites us to continue fighting to keep alive the values of unity and love for the Homeland.”
He added: “Today, more than ever, we renew our commitment to build the Argentina we dream of: with development, work, and opportunities for everyone.”
Laurent emphasized the significance of honoring San Martín while sharing local identity and history, noting that the date serves as a reminder to celebrate national heritage and strive for future achievements. Peralta echoed this sentiment, stating that preserving history and unifying values is essential for building the desired future for the country.
The commemoration began with a flag-raising ceremony in the plaza, accompanied by institutions from across Pilar and the Military Band of the Army Symphonic Group. Following the formal tributes, families participated in cultural activities featuring traditional foods and artistic presentations.
