A 23-year-old man from Arouca is currently in police custody following an intelligence-led operation in Piarco, where he was found with counterfeit police identification and equipment. The operation was initiated after police received information about a suspicious individual, believed to be armed and posing as a Trinidad and Tobago Police Service officer in the Piarco Old Road area. The operation was carried out by officers from the North Central Division Task Force East and West, along with Special Branch personnel. During a search at a residential property on Piarco Old Road, the officers found a fake TTPS identification card and several items resembling official police gear. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer and investigations are still ongoing.
