A significant police investigation is underway following a chilling discovery at the Cumuto Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2026. An estimated fifty infants and six adult bodies were found, prompting a wave of shock and concern. The cemetery, located directly behind the Cumuto Police Station, became a crime scene that day.
Unexpectedly, two individuals were apprehended on the premises, allegedly caught in the act of attempting to dispose of the bodies unlawfully. The two suspects are now in police custody, awaiting further proceedings. However, many questions remain unanswered as the identities of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding their deaths are still under investigation.
Authorities are yet to provide an official statement confirming the exact number of bodies or any further details about the case. As the investigation continues, the police force, including Superintendent McKenzie ASP BBalewa, Woman Inspector Cedeno-Figaro, and several other officers, visited the scene. Among the first to arrive was Crime Watch host Ian Alleyne, who visited the area as the news of the horrifying find began to spread.
The case is fluid, with more updates expected as investigators diligently work to piece together the facts. In the meantime, the community waits in anticipation, hoping for clarity and justice in this unsettling case.
