Belmont Man Shot Multiple Times, Hospitalized in Stable Condition

A 24-year-old man from Belmont, currently living in St. James, Trinidad, was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being shot multiple times. Police responded to reports of loud explosions in the Benares Street area around 12:15 a.m. on March 3, 2026, and found the victim at the back of a property, suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. The victim, who sustained between eight to 12 gunshot wounds including a head wound, was transported to the St. James Medical Complex. He received treatment and is now in stable condition. Despite his Belmont origins, the victim had been living in the Benares Street area for the past three months. The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made yet.
