In a significant diplomatic engagement, Sudan’s Prime Minister Prof. Kamil Idris met with the African Union Envoy to Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Belaiche, to discuss crucial steps toward achieving lasting peace and addressing the humanitarian challenges facing the nation. The discussions, which included the Prime Minister’s Adviser, Nizar Abdullah Mohamed, focused on enhancing coordination among various peace initiatives in the country. Ambassador Belaiche emphasized the importance of a unified approach to restore stability, stating that support from the African Union is critical during this tumultuous period. He highlighted that senior AU officials are set to visit Sudan soon in an effort to align the various peace-building efforts according to the aspirations of the Sudanese. The Ambassador further praised Sudan’s historical role as a leader in fostering goodwill across the continent, reinforcing the country’s significance in regional affairs.
