Marvin Gonzales Calls For Unity As PNM Looks To Future
People’s National Movement (PNM) Chairman has issued a strong appeal for unity within the party, urging members to put aside their differences and work together as the organization continues its rebuilding efforts.
Speaking during a PNM meeting in Claxton Bay, Gonzales delivered an impassioned address in which he encouraged supporters to rally behind the party and reaffirm their commitment to its values and leadership.
Addressing party members, Gonzales said the PNM has always stood for “morality in public affairs” and described the organization as representing the conscience of the people of Trinidad and Tobago. He stressed that internal unity would be essential as the party prepares for the future.
“We believe in morality in public affairs. We represent the conscience of the people of Trinidad and Tobago,” Gonzales told supporters.
Calling on members to move beyond any internal disagreements, he urged supporters to work together in the interest of the party rather than allowing divisions to persist.
“Let us put aside our differences. Let us work together to ensure that we have a strong and united Dr. Eric Williams party, a George Chambers party, a Patrick Augustus Mervyn Manning party, a Dr. Keith Rowley party, a Penelope Beckles party, a Stuart Young party,” he said.
During the address, Gonzales reflected on the contributions of several leaders who have shaped the People’s National Movement throughout its history, saying the party’s legacy has been built through decades of service and leadership.
He concluded his remarks with a direct appeal to all members to unite behind the organization.
“Today, here in Claxton Bay, I call all party members: let us put aside our differences and let us unite once and for all.”
The speech ended with supporters joining Gonzales in repeated chants of “Great is the PNM,” as he expressed confidence that a united party would continue to move forward.
The address comes as the PNM continues to reorganize following its defeat in the 2025 General Election, with senior officials repeatedly emphasizing unity and rebuilding as the party prepares for its next chapter. Gonzales’ remarks echoed that message, focusing on reconciliation, shared purpose and strengthening the organization for the future.
