A 22-year-old Valencia man has been charged with the murder of an 81-year-old pensioner whose burnt body was discovered at his home last month.
Kendelle Michael Seales, also known as ‘Shango’, appeared before Master Raydon Dalrymple-Watts in the High Court North ‘B’ on July 21st, 2026. He faces one count of murder in connection with the death of James Le Cadre.
Le Cadre, a resident of Plantation Road, Valencia, was found burnt to death inside his home on June 27th, 2026. The circumstances surrounding the fire and the pensioner’s death prompted a homicide investigation.
Police arrested one male suspect in the Valencia district on July 14th, 2026, during an operation led by officers from the Valencia Police Post. Seales was formally charged on July 20th, 2026, by Woman Police Constable La Fortune-Salina of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two.
The charge was laid following advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard SC on the same date. The investigation was supervised by Acting ASP Victor, Sergeant Radhaykissoon, and Legal Officer PC Subiah, all of HBI Region Two.
The matter has been adjourned to October 10th, 2026, for further hearing.
