Vacationing Officer Dies in Highway Crash

A tragic road traffic accident has claimed the life of a police officer, identified as Police Constable Boochan. The officer was last assigned to the Piarco Police Station. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly on vacation leave while undergoing dialysis treatment. The fatal accident occurred along the eastbound lane of the Churchill–Roosevelt Highway, near the Maloney traffic lights.

The incident transpired on Thursday, March 26, 2026. The vehicle involved was a dark grey Subaru Impreza, driven by an officer assigned to the Highway Patrol Unit. In a devastating turn of events, Boochan was hit by the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
