Urgent Blood Appeal for Officer Wounded in La Romaine Shooting, 18-year-old Suspect Detained

In a grim turn of events, police officer PC Koon Koon was wounded in a shooting incident in La Romaine, an area known as ‘the turning point’, along La Fortune Pluck Road. The incident happened just before midnight on Friday, April 3, 2026. Koon Koon sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen and is currently receiving medical care, including surgery, at San Fernando General Hospital.

While the details surrounding the incident remain somewhat unclear, an 18-year-old suspect has been detained in connection with the shooting. Investigations into the event are ongoing as authorities are yet to release full information about what led to the shooting.

In the wake of the incident, an urgent appeal for blood donations has been issued to assist the wounded officer. The Blood Bank at the San Fernando General Hospital is open today, Saturday, April 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for this purpose.

Those willing to help are asked to arrive before 1:00 p.m., state that the donation is for PC Koon Koon, and provide the slip to the medical team. The need is especially great for O Positive blood. The public’s assistance in this matter is crucial.
