The Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) has called for targeted funding to be included in the upcoming national budget for community pharmacies located in deprived areas.
According to the union, pharmacies in these communities often face higher demand and more complex patient needs, which can strain their resources and impact service delivery.
IPU representatives urged the government to consider allocating additional financial support to help these pharmacies meet the challenges posed by their patient populations.
