U.S. Escalates Operations; Airlines Suspend Venezuela Flights

Coinciding with this, airlines including Portugal’s TAP, Chile’s LATAM, Colombia’s Avianca, Brazil’s GOL, and Trinidad and Tobago’s Caribbean Airlines have halted flights to Venezuela in response to a U.S. notice to airmen for the Maiquetía Flight Information Region. The situation points to an escalating tension as Washington enhances its threat assessment and regional aviation responds swiftly.
