The incident occurred on January 2, 2026, when the duo, known to the victim, reportedly assaulted a 33-year-old man at a bar in Cunaripo and stole an iPhone 14 along with $400 in cash. The Sangre Grande CID promptly initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest and charging of Hunte and Ramnath. While Hunte was denied bail, Ramnath was granted bail under specific conditions. The case is set to be heard in the Sangre Grande District Court on February 2, 2026.
