The Ministry of Public Works announced on 7 November 2026 that night‑time works will begin on 9 November to repair a drainage channel (dalot) at kilometre 6.5 on the seaward side of Faa’a. The repair work is scheduled to continue until 21 November 2026, with activity limited to the hours between 19:00 and 04:00 and subject to weather conditions. To ensure safety, traffic will be regulated by alternating traffic controls, and pedestrians will be diverted onto the opposite sidewalk on the mountain side. Users of the road are advised to exercise caution during the work period.
