Top US Military Officer Meets Trinidad and Tobago PM

General Dan Caine, the United States’ highest-ranking military officer, is set to meet Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago today. As the 22nd Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Caine is the principal military advisor to the US President, Secretary of War, and National Security Council. The meeting will focus on reinforcing the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations, enhancing regional stability, and expressing the crucial need to counter illicit trafficking and transnational criminal organizations, according to a statement from the US Embassy in Port of Spain.
