**Book Launch in Bengaluru Highlights Nature, Leadership, and Work Life**
*Bengaluru, Karnataka – September 4, 2026* – The book *The World Is Carried Within – Eighteen Essays on the Natural World and the Working Life* by Manoj Mathew V M FIIHM was launched at a special event held on September 3 at the Verandah Boutique Lounge, the headquarters of Tamara Leisure Experiences (TLE) in Bengaluru.
The book, the first volume of TLE’s “Third Eye Series,” was inaugurated by S. D. Shibulal, chairman of Tamara Leisure Experiences and co‑founder of Infosys. The first copy was presented to Ms. Shruti Shibulal.
During the launch, Mathew engaged in a conversation with Ian Faria, a mind coach, corporate trainer, and leadership consultant. The discussion explored the experiences and reflections that underpin the book’s 18 essays. Other speakers included Mahesh Iyer, principal and founder of Iyer & Mahesh Architects, and Dr. Tapas Mukherjee, former head of the Department of English at Government College, Bori, Chhattisgarh.
**Book Content**
*The World Is Carried Within* combines 18 literary essays with original wildlife photographs taken by Mathew in forests of Coorg and Nagarahole, the pilgrimage coast of Gokarna, and the shoreline of Bentota, Sri Lanka. Each essay begins with a photograph that serves as a springboard for reflections on nature, human behaviour, organisations, leadership, and inner life. The book is organised into four thematic sections: The Forest, The Organisation, The Shore, and The Opening.
Mathew, who has spent more than four decades in hospitality—including 33 years with the Taj Group—described the book as neither a nature book nor a leadership book, but a book about seeing. “I did not set out to write a book about leadership, and I did not set out to write a book about nature. I set out, as always, with a camera. The photographs came first, and what they showed was not always what I had seen. That is where the essays began,” he said.
**Publication Details**
The book is published by Quiet Compass Press. It is available as a standard trade paperback and in a limited edition of 125 signed hardcovers. It is Manoj Mathew’s fourth book, following his Dead Reckoning trilogy (*Journey Without Maps*, *Where the Map Ends*, and *Landfall*).
