Teen Among Three Killed in Penal Home Invasion

In a shocking turn of events, three men, including a teenager, were killed during a violent home invasion in Penal. The incident, which took place in the early hours of Monday, March 23, 2026, has sent shockwaves through the community. The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Jordan Cudjoe Burke, 22-year-old Ishmael Matthews, and 21-year-old Roberto Samuel Carlos.

The attack was launched at a residence along Sunset Drive, an area colloquially known as ‘D’ Dog Patch.’ According to police reports, a resident in the two-story concrete house was jolted awake around 2:56 a.m. by a series of loud explosions. Upon investigating, she discovered the three men lying motionless in a downstairs bedroom in the western section of the house.

All victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and several live rounds and spent 9mm shells were recovered at the scene. The police arrived shortly after the discovery, securing the scene and launching a homicide investigation.

In a poignant twist, police confirmed that the young Burke was the son of the late Cedric ‘Burkie’ Burke of Sea Lots, who tragically died in 2020 from complications related to COVID-19. This latest tragedy marks another deadly incident in Penal, as investigators work tirelessly to establish a motive and identify those behind this brutal attack.
