Solomon Kings FC Keep Semi-Final Dream Alive with 3-0 Win Over PNG Hekari

Solomon Kings FC kept their semi-final hopes alive with a commanding 3-0 victory over PNG Hekari FC in their final Challengers Group fixture on Sunday. After a narrow 3-2 defeat to Vanuatu United FC earlier, Ben Cahn’s side knew a comfortable win was essential to stay in contention.

They started brightly, taking the lead after just ten minutes. Bobby Leslie linked up with Jayroll Patty, held off Naime Regy, and slotted past Christinus Biasu. Jez Lofthouse doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, nodding home from close range after a delicate ball from Junior David.

Despite chances for both sides, the score remained 2-0 until stoppage time when Rafa Le’ai set up Lofthouse for his second goal, curling into the far corner to make it 3-0. Solomon Kings now must wait for the result between Tahiti United and Vanuatu United FC to see if they advance to the semifinals.
