Snoop Dogg Plans Ice Cream Future Under “Scoop Dogg” Name

Snoop Dogg has revealed a sweet plan for life beyond music, saying he wants to operate an ice cream parlour under the playful name “Scoop Dogg”.

The 54-year-old American rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has spoken about the idea for years, describing owning an ice cream business as a longtime dream.

But what once sounded like a joke has increasingly become a genuine business venture.

Snoop Dogg is already involved in the ice cream industry through Dr. Bombay, the brand he developed with his son Cordell Broadus. The brand has expanded from packaged ice cream into a physical scoop shop in Venice, California.

The rapper has also taken his search for new flavours worldwide.

Dr. Bombay recently advertised for an International Ice Cream Taster who would be paid US$10,000 per month for three months.

The successful applicant’s job involves exploring ice cream and frozen-dessert trends around the world, discovering unusual flavour combinations and reporting findings to the Dr. Bombay team.

Applicants were able to apply from anywhere in the world, provided they spoke English, had a valid passport and were available for the three-month assignment.

The position carries a total contract value of US$30,000.

Snoop’s interest in ice cream also has family roots. According to Dr. Bombay, his father grew up on a dairy farm in Mississippi where ice cream was hand-churned, while Snoop later developed his own family memories around ice cream with his children.

And when his music career eventually comes to an end, Snoop already has the perfect name waiting for his next chapter: “Scoop Dogg”.
