Senator Ndume Denies Receiving ₦5bn Ransom, Meeting Kaigama

Senator Ali Ndume has publicly refuted explosive allegations that he received ₦5 billion in ransom and acted as an intermediary for terrorists. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the senator dismissed the claims as baseless, insisting he never met Samaila Kaigama, the alleged link to terrorist groups.

The allegations, which surfaced recently, suggested Ndume played a role in facilitating ransom payments, a charge that could have serious implications for national security and political integrity. But Ndume was unequivocal in his denial, stating that his interactions with Kaigama were limited and that he never handled any ransom money.

“I never met Kaigama, and I never received ₦5 billion ransom,” Ndume said during the interview. He challenged his accusers to provide evidence, maintaining that the claims are part of a smear campaign against him.

The senator’s denial comes amid growing public concern over terrorism financing in Nigeria. As a prominent lawmaker, Ndume’s direct refutation is significant, but the controversy continues to stir debate. No formal investigation has been announced, and the source of the allegations remains unclear.

Ndume urged Nigerians to disregard the claims, vowing to cooperate with any legitimate inquiry. The story has dominated political discussions, with many calling for a thorough probe to clear the air.
