Senator Jones-Simmons Responds to Prime Minister’s Accusations

In a recent interview, Senator Jones-Simmons expressed her calm disposition despite the allegations made by the Prime Minister against the Independent Bench. The Prime Minister had accused the Independent Bench of seeking favors from government senators. The Senator firmly believes that the independent senators have conducted themselves admirably in light of these accusations. She also urged the Prime Minister to reveal names and have her minister present the relevant facts. On the call by the opposition for the Prime Minister and Minister Padarath to be referred to the Privileges Committee, the Senator chose not to comment further.
