S.S. Sustainable Systems Hosts 2026 Sustainability Workshop in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago

S.S. Sustainable Systems, in collaboration with the Couva Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce, is set to host an insightful workshop titled ‘Sustainability Through Procurement’ on 21 August 2026. This event, located at the Chamber’s premises on Camden Road, Couva, aims to gather a diverse group of individuals ranging from students to industry leaders, all focused on the future of sustainable procurement in Trinidad and Tobago.

Themed ‘Youth Transforming Caribbean Procurement: Building Environmentally Sustainable Supply Chains for Resilience, Prosperity, and Global Impact by 2026,’ the event will feature presentations from notable figures, including Comptroller of the Customs and Excise Division, Mr. Riad Juman. Representatives from organizations such as NEDCO, PLIPDECO, and the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago will also share their expertise.

A key goal of the workshop is to inspire the next generation of procurement professionals by promoting environmentally responsible purchasing practices. Attendees will gain valuable insights into sustainable sourcing and innovative procurement methods, as well as the chance to network with professionals from various sectors.

The initiative also includes an opportunity to win one of three scholarships provided by CTS College, aimed at those interested in pursuing careers in procurement and related fields. Additionally, the programme will feature live entertainment, a question-and-answer segment, and presentations by corporate partners, all designed to encourage collaboration and innovation.

This free event promises to be both informative and engaging, with refreshments provided. Due to limited seating, interested individuals are encouraged to register in advance. Organizers hope the workshop will significantly boost awareness of sustainable procurement practices, fostering development that benefits the entire Caribbean region.
